Dine-In Meals

The congregate meal program, sponsored by the East Texas Area Agency on Aging, ensures a daily free and nutritious meal for seniors ages 60 and older.  Lunch is served Monday through Friday at the Tri-County Meals on Wheels office at 200 N. Church St., Palestine, TX, beginning at 12:00 noon.  Lunch is served in our Dining Room and concludes by 12:30 p.m.  A 24-hour reservation is appreciated as is a 24-hour cancellation notice.

Qualifications for Dine-In Meals

To join the program, the applicant must complete an intake form and nutritional assessment and attend one nutrition education presentation per year. There is no cost for nutrition education.

If you are 60 years of age or older, we ask for a voluntary contribution of $3 for your meal. The meal cost is $6 if you are younger than 60 years of age.

Home Delivered Meals

Tri-County Meals on Wheels provides hot, nutritious, freshly prepared meals five days a week to Anderson, Cherokee, and Rusk County residents who cannot provide for themselves due to illness, advanced age, or disability. These meals contribute to the overall health and well-being of our senior clients, including those with chronic illnesses and frail seniors who are homebound.

Unable to cook for themselves or have anyone who can cook for them and score a 20 on an assessment.

People who have Medicaid can contact their caseworker and ask to have meals added to their plan.
